Processes
Based on the customer’s requirements and following an assessment by our technical department, GMP Engineering offers the following special finishes to enhance the functionality, performance and ease of assembly of extruded profiles:
Welding & Joining
Whether straight or corner-jointed, welding is the most effective technological solution to ensure perfect insulation and an excellent seal on any type of closure. Depending on the material, the end use and the assessments made by our technical department, GMP Engineering performs welding using various technologies: foil welding, injection welding, or hot- and cold-bonding.This highly functional process is ideal for products that require excellent airtightness, watertightness and liquid-tightness in general, and is often the most effective solution for addressing insulation problems in both industrial and residential applications.
Special Services
Upon specific request, we can apply double-sided adhesive to both rigid and flexible extruded profiles to simplify installation, fastening and assembly, ensuring long-lasting adhesion and compatibility with various substrates(Silicone-EPDM-PVC-TPE).
Applying a flocked tape to one or more surfaces of the gasket improves smoothness, reduces friction and provides a more refined aesthetic finish, while maintaining optimal sealing performance.
The insertion of a wire into the soft seal prevents elongation during assembly, thereby preserving its shape, seal and functionality over time.
We carry out in-line laser marking, which enables unique product identification and the tracking of the production batch throughout the entire supply chain.
Talc coating is a surface treatment using industrial talc that gives the product a veiled effect and improves its smoothness, thereby facilitating handling, winding and assembly.
We perform drilling and countersinking to create seats for screws and pitch fasteners on rigid profiles, thereby simplifying assembly and installation.
GMP Engineering manufactures extruded gaskets made from hydrophilic material. Upon contact with water or aqueous solutions, the material can expand to up to 10 times its initial volume, forming a barrier that prevents the ingress or egress of liquids. Hydrophilic seals can be produced in a wide range of shapes, sizes and cross-sections to meet specific application requirements.
